Paul Miles, a multi-talented singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist (guitar, piano, bantar, and more), has gone back to the basis of American popular music: the Blues.  Although influenced by James Brown, Jimi Hendrix and Richie Havens, he looks to artists like Lightning Hopkins, B.B. King, Mississippi John Hurt, and Furry Lewis for inspiration, along with contemporary influences Taj Mahal and Keb Mo’. He has self-produced 10 albums of original blues over the past 15 years. His infectious musical style is a delight to people all over the world. From the coffeehouses of Bowling Green State University in Ohio in the 70′s, to Southern California in the 80′s, to the Mississippi delta, to Switzerland in the late 90′s, he has played with numerous bands while still continuing his solo works.

Paul has written a large volume of music he labels “The People’s Music.” His CD titled “A Peace of the Blues” was nominated by the Detroit Music Awards 2005 for Best R&B/Blues Recording as well as best Blues writer. In 2008 he received 3 Detroit Music Awards for Best Blues/R&B Album, Best Blues/R&B Songwriter and Best Blues Instrumentalist. The Video “Motown Still Our Town” won a Detroit Music Awards for best video in 2010 for a budget under $10,000.  His CD Blue Collar Man was one of the final nominees for Best Blues/R&B Recording in 2010. Paul also picked up a nomination in the first Detroit Black Music Awards as a finalist for Best Male Blues Artist in 2010.

Paul Miles has performed at multiple venues and festivals throughout metro Detroit, southeast Michigan, and Windsor, Ontario. “Keeping the Blues Alive” is his motto.
