“Lansing’s own Queen of the Blues,” Kathleen Bolthouse has been captivating audiences in and around Lansing since the formation of her first band, Blues Xpress, in the late 90s. Drawing from jazz, funk, rock, and soul to produce their own brand of the blues, this year’s festivalgoers will be up on their feet grooving to the down-home solid blues of the Kathleen Bolthouse Band.

Their unique mix of traditional and contemporary blues, sultry ballads, soul, swing and rock is sure to ignite the senses.

Formerly known as The Blues Junkies, The Kathleen Bolthouse Band took 2nd place in the Capital Area Blues Society Blues Brawl and People’s Choice Award – just a few months after forming.

Kathleen has shared the stage with national blues artists Larry McCray, Memphis mainstay The Daddy Mack Blues Band, and San Francisco’s Tommy Castro Band.

The band includes Kathleen Bolthouse on vocals, Doc Yankee on keyboards, Joel Bence on bass, Art Phelps on drums, Steve Dely and S.J. “Frog” Forgey on guitar.
